The Best Street Photographer We Never Knew Existed
moderation: The story is almost as amazing as the photos: more than 100,000 negatives in the collection, about 20-30,000 negatives still in rolls, taken by a mysterious, unknown photographer. She was a nanny by day and a closet photographer—nobody knew about this stuff. Discovered at a garage sale, Vivian Maier is possibly the greatest unknown street photographer. This is all stunning. “Finishing a book is just like you took a child out in the back yard and shot it.”
– Truman Capote (via libraryland)  Just finished reading all 784 pages of The Passage this morning, so I had that same emptiness as I sat on the subway.

That snow this morning was bullshit.  6 inches?  I took Franklin outside for a walk and saw the sidewalks were totally clear and the streets were basically clear.  As such, I still had to come in to work..ON TIME!  How am I going to have a lazy, late morning if NYC gets their act together like this?  For shame, Mayor!

I just saw a Verizon commercial where someone had to Shazam “Bust-a-Move.”  If you have to do that, you do NOT deserve a smart phone.
